RounTrey-A 2020 Year in Review
When hearing ‘2020’, we can all agree that it has been a very tough year on many fronts. Battling a global pandemic, economic hardship, and overall battles with our mental health were among just a few major headlines. What we want to highlight is the incredible sense of community that became even more solidified throughout this entire year here in RounTrey. As circumstances worsened, our neighbors progressed in beautiful ways from supporting small businesses to something as simple as putting rainbows in their windows and doorways for passersby. In an effort to put our most positive foot forward heading into 2021, we thought it would be great to remember some of our fondest RounTrey memories!
Brand New Model Homes Begin to Open in 2020: We were so excited to have yet another streetscape filled with custom, furnished model homes by some of RVA’s most extraordinary builders! These builders include Covenant Building and Design, Homesmith Construction, LeGault Homes, and South River Custom Homes! Craftmaster Homes also has an award-winning model on the same street and we are excited for River City Custom Homes to complete their newest masterpiece (just a couple of months away!). To safely visit any of our model homes, please click here and shoot us a message for information on scheduling your very own private tour!
RVA Food Trucks To the Rescue: While our RounTrey residents were hunkering in with their families, we were SO very fortunate to have dozens of food trucks servicing our neighborhood nearly every day since March! Whether it were special deliveries from local restaurants, shipments from local breweries (2020, right?), or a mouth-watering food truck favorite parked in front of either of our clubhouses there was no shortage in convenience throughout the course of the year. Pizza and BBQ and tacos, oh my…
First Modern Home Completed! Of the many ways RounTrey is one-of-a-kind, we are SO proud to be a Midlothian suburban community incorporating an exclusive modern homes section: Century at RounTrey! While this was conceptualized years before, we saw the fruits of our labor come to life in 2020 as the first modern home was officially completed (Shoutout to the Johnson family and Covenant Building and Design for knocking it out of the park!). We now have a brand new model by Homesmith Construction operating and a slew of other contemporary beauties going up! Be sure to follow our page Midlo Modern at RounTrey on Facebook and on Instagram as well to follow along on this exciting journey!
RounTrey Run 4 Hope (Virtual) 5K Race: After a wildly delightful first 5k in March 2019, we were SO excited to up the ante with MORE participants , more fundraising, and more fun. With precautions in place, we then moved the Spring 2020 race, including a 1 mile kids fun run, to September where it would be a virtual race. While still supporting local members of our very own community, the Dr. Seuss themed run went off without a hitch-all things considered! Stay tuned on the RounTrey Run 4 Hope 5K Facebook Page to learn about plans for 2021!
Virtual to Reality Model Homes Tour with Rebecca Wilde! In order to make lemon out of lemonades – and keep everyone safe – we decided to partner up with our good friends at Mix 98.1 and let our favorite radio personality walk us through an entertaining (and, yep! Rainy!) tour of our model homes back in August. Viewers on Facebook live got a thorough walkthrough of each and every model in RounTrey and boy was it awesome!
A few trends we learned about on the tour?
-Giant, functional kitchens
-Outdoor/dual entertaining spaces
-Specious master suites with large walk-in closets
We want to thank both Rebecca and also all of our engaged viewers who came to our very 2020 event!
RounTrey Gets Lit, Snow Globe Santa, and New Holiday Traditions: Being many locals’ favorite yearly event, with a little bit of tweaking we were able to kick off our 4th Annual RounTrey LightsFest event without a hitch! Santa was the MVP along with a gorgeously decorated snow globe as to practice social distancing! With nearly 20 entries throughout the community, families downloaded self-guided tour maps and drove through the sometimes tacky and sometimes classic homes! There was a food truck there to handle dinner and even some extra treats to bring along on the ride. Hundreds of votes were tallied and our big winner was Lauren Renschler!
RounTrey was stoked to join an age-old tradition and light luminaries throughout sections old and new of both RounTrey and NewMarket! With nearly 5,000 luminaries and even more spirit, it was the perfect Christmas evening sight and a wonderful way to round out 2020. The way this community comes together is unlike anything you’ve seen and we give (virtual) hugs to our residents who make it special day in and day out and whether or not it is an organized event or not. Happy New Year and cheers to a lovely 2021!
