For our first ‘Residents of RounTrey’ spotlight of 2019, we were able to sit down with the Morris family.  It is always special to meet families that are intricately involved in neighborhood committees and events, as April and Eric sure are! April is involved in the RounTrey Social Committee and her husband, Eric, is currently planning the neighborhood’s very first Unicorn 5k event for charity!  Here’s what April had to say about some questions we had for them:

How long have you lived in RounTrey and what first attracted you to the community? We have lived here since the beginning of June 2016. A fellow neighbor, Lamar Calloway (who is also Eric’s old high school classmate) recommended that we look in RounTrey when he found out that we were looking for a new home. We drove around the neighborhood a few times and discovered the new section (at the time) Graythorne had started to build homes. We loved and chose this neighborhood because it was a good location in Midlothian, had beautiful homes with great custom builders and in a great school district. When we were looking, the clubhouse and pool had not been built but it was in the Master Plan. With 3 children, that was also a plus!

Did you build and customize your home? We actually did not build. Tom Anderson built a spec home in the cul-de-sac of Endstone Trl and it met all of our needs. We finished and customized the third floor and moved in!

How was the experience of building a home (if answer was yes above!) Tom Anderson is great builder. Working with Tom to finish our 3rd floor was painless and quick. He built a solid home.

Kids’ favorite social event of the year? Our children look forward to the Fall Festival every year. It’s a great time of year and it is so much fun!

YOUR favorite community event of the year? So my husband and I have different events that we enjoy. He loves movie nights in the summer at the pool so he can mingle with our neighbors and treat everyone to his ‘Pina Mo’ladas’; his version of the Pina Colada which is delicious.  My favorite is the Fall Festival. It is my favorite time of the year. There are lots of activities for the kids including face painting, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, bounce house/slide, costume competition, etc. There are also adult beverages provided and food trucks. It keeps getting bigger and better every year as our neighborhood grows.

What are you most excited about in the coming months and years in RounTrey? We are really excited about our first annual RounTrey 5K run/walk for charity in March. It is going to be so much fun running in our own neighborhood with our neighbors for a good cause. We are also excited about raising our children here with great neighbors who have become really good friends. The social events are always so much fun! The neighborhood is growing and we are looking forward to seeing how it develops over time.

Give us song lyrics that sum up the community: From Cheers:’…And they’re always glad you came; You want to go where people know, people are all the same, you want go where everybody knows your name…”
